Overmantel mirror commission with Gosling Ltd.
We worked with Tim Gosling on a new mirror commissioned by his client. The aim of the piece was to provide a focus for the room and increase the amount of light. The ornamental nature of the piece engages the eye.
Based on Tim's initial sketch, we developed the design and the carved forms. During this process the water gilding and burninshing scheme was born in mind. For example, how the burnishing scheme was to enhance the carved forms and details.
The client showed great interest at all stages of the commission which made it a truly collaborative venture.
